I'm pleased to account that I have been selected to attend the four-day intensive visual storytelling workshop led by senior staff photographer at The New York Times and the co-editor of the Times' photography blog LENS, James Estrin, and The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
Participants will develop a photo essay from beginning to end during the workshop. There will be individual shooting assignments, daily group discussions and critiques, editing sessions and guest speakers, including photographer Todd Heisler and Time Lightbox editor Olivier Laurent. Participants will focus on developing personal projects, learning how to tell an intimate story, as well as editing, promoting and publishing their work. The workshop has been limited to 12 participants. Stay tuned for more updates and work produced during the workshop!
